Description
Free and open to all! In a throwback to the golden age of hip-hop, Shaheed and DJ Supreme join the Alabama Symphony Orchestra for an evening of rhythm, rhyme, and flow. Featuring tracks written specifically for this collaboration, this premiere performance blends the energy of hip-hop with the grandeur of symphonic music. The program includes positive messaging and highlights the important work of UAB Arts in Medicine, UAB Brain Institute, and other local Birmingham nonprofits. Led by the ASO’s Daniel Cho, this extended version of our Young People’s Concert offers an exciting and engaging experience for audiences of all ages.
This free concert is the opening event for ASO’s Momentum Symposium, an immersive and collaborative event designed to empower and inspire the next generation of music professionals. This annual conference encourages aspiring performers, music educators, production professionals, and industry enthusiasts to elevate your passion and knowledge in the world of instrumental music.
Thank you to this year’s Momentum sponsors for making this event possible: Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, National Endowment for the Arts, Regions Financial Corporation, Dr. Mary Jo Ghory, and Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama.
