Description
Join us on Friday, May 1, 2026, for the 3rd annual Heroes and Healers event, presented by UAB Trauma! This year, we’re having our very own movie premiere, complete with red carpet and velvet rope! Join us as we recognize and celebrate survivors of traumatic injury and their families, as well as the first responders and healthcare professionals who saved their lives and helped them on their road to recovery.
We will be honoring burn survivor Carmen Knight; trauma survivor Jacob Smith; Reese Cameron, RN, BSN; Jeff Richey, PA-C; and Felicia Sanders, COTA/L. The event will be emceed by KD Hill, former honoree, trauma survivor, author, and public speaker.
Tickets include light hors d’oeuvres and beverages, red carpet photos, and the world premiere of the 2026 Heroes and Healers short films. Alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic cocktails will be available at a cash bar.
We look forward to seeing you for an uplifting evening at the UAB Alys Stephens Center’s Morris K. Sirote Theatre.
- Doors open at 6:00, movies start at 7:00.
- Guests are encouraged to dress as glamorously as they wish (black tie optional) for this red carpet movie premiere, but the dress code is flexible for those coming from or to work.
