Description
Dive into the exciting world of pinhole photography with UAB Assistant Professor of Photography Jillian Marie Browning at the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts (AEIVA).
Inspired by the pinhole camera photography on view in Erin Jane Nelson’s exhibition, Living and Working, at AEIVA, workshop participants will learn about the history of photography and the development of pinhole and long-exposure techniques, create their own pinhole camera out of repurposed materials, and, using their cameras, make their own images to take home. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or curious beginner, this 3-hour workshop offers a unique opportunity to slow down, observe, and create one-of-a-kind images.
This workshop is free, but advance registration is required. Registration will open on May 21.
