Class Description:
In this two-part class by Sam Roberts, you'll explore the art of solar printing and hand stitching to transform an article of clothing or a tote bag into a one-of-a-kind wearable piece.
In the first session, you'll use solar printing techniques to design and create unique fabric patches. In the second session, you’ll learn basic sewing and embroidery techniques to hand-stitch and apply your custom prints onto the garment or tote you bring, or tote that we provide.
Artist Bio:
Sam Roberts is a Birmingham-based interdisciplinary artist, educator, and curator. Their creative process blends organized chaos with research, helping them explore themes of healing trauma, identity, and connection. Through a balance of conceptual planning and intuitive practices, Sam delves into layered approaches to art, using their work to process emotions, thoughts, and understand the world around them.
